However, any letter with more than one enclosure but still weighing under 1 oz was charged Treble Postage, i.e. 3 x 10d = 2/6.1830 Entire Letter to Surrey with very fine Crowned FREE just over a fine strike of the Mileage MIDDLETON / 134 in black.
1815 Entire Letter to Dublin with two strikes of the Mileage BALLYSHANNON / 101 in red, deemed FREE on arrival in Dublin and the charge cancelled.
1820 Entire Letter from from Drogheda to Inverness with very fine small Mileage DROGHEDA / 24, left m/s Missent and with superb ARMAGH / 66 Mileage in blue, the charge of 9d cancelled there and raised to 1/11½, then to 2/2½, finally to 4/4½.
Postal History: 1830 Entire Letter from Mountjoy Forest to Dublin paid m/s "9" in red with fair OMAGH / 86 red, left with a very fine and clear matching unframed PAID (F/K 285).
The previous earliest known use of this very scarce PAID handstamp is for 1832.
