Forerunner: GB 1892 "Court" size envelope 2½d slate with watermark "DE LA RUE / EXTRA TOUGH" in double lined capitals, very neatly used in 1896 to Novara, Italy, with a superb strike of the Dublin "facing table" single-ring cds number 9, rarely seen as a canceller.
