1841 Cover to Lisburn franked with 2 singles of the 1d brown-red on blued paper from "Black" Plate VIII, NC and NE with 4 margins barely touching to wide, both tied by complete strikes of the distinctive Clonmel Maltese Cross in black, each clearly showing the fixing pin in the center, reverse of the cover bearing a confirming Clonmel cds of May 21 / 1841 and Dublin transit diamond in red. The stamps are additionally tied by a weak LISBURN arrival cds of May 23rd in black.
A very fine example of this early distinctive Maltese cross, rarely seen so clearly struck.
