1799 Entire Letter from Dublin to London showing a fine to very fine and clear strike of the large S / IRELAND (F/K 63) in orange-red. manuscript charge of "1/4" reduced to "8", reverse with superb small Dublin cds NO/18/99 (F/K 20) in black, also a London cds S/NOV 21/99 in the same shade of red as the IRELAND, proving where this latter was applied.
The contents are fascinating, being an appeal to the Earl Fitzwilliam for payment for the supply of Malt and Spiritous liquors to officers of the West Yorkshire Regiment who made spurious promises of payment, the letter-writer now being faced with imprisonment for the debt to his employer.
